Award-winner Dave Warner introduces new book at Shepparton Library
Dave will be speaking about his latest book, When It Rains, at Shepparton Library on Thursday, March 27 at 7pm.
Broome detective Dan Clement returns in Dave’s latest book, where he heads a small team in Australia’s north-west, policing a landmass larger than Western Europe.
In When It Rains, Dan has his hands full as there’s a deluge of crime in the area.
His sergeant is beaten up, a woman is viciously assaulted, and a hand tied to a post is all that is left in crocodile-infested waters.
The crimes seem to be unrelated — until Clement looks again at another tourist death-by-crocodile eight years earlier.
And with a free-spirited new lover claiming his attention, his private life isn’t a simple matter either.
The stakes keep rising with the floodwaters, reminding Clement of the adage ‘it never rains, but it pours’.
With a killer out there somewhere, the time has arrived for Clement to sink or swim.
Dave first came to national prominence with his gold album Mug’s Game, and his band Dave Warner’s from the Suburbs.
He has been named a Western Australian State Living Treasure and has been inducted into the WAMi Rock ’n’ Roll of Renown.
When It Rains is his fifth Dan Clement book.
As an author, Dave has written two other series and several stand-alone novels.
His music works and contributions to screenwriting are too many to list.
